The "gatherer" button just above your cursor when you posted that message.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but there is no gatherer button. There is however a short phrase in the bottom left that says "BBCode is OFF".

Oh yeah, I'd turned off public BBcode in the Announcements forum to keep them clear of clutter. Should work now.

Filth

Nice. I would have preferred [card] tags though, because all other forums I use / have used have those. [Gatherer] is slower to write for those of us who type all the tags instead of using those little buttons. (Yes, I know I'm the only one, but still...) And it would of course be even better if [gatherer]Filth[/gatherer] (or [card]Filth[/card]) automatically became Filth, because really, no one wants to type the names of every card in their 100-card highlander decklist twice.

Also, I don't think the card image next to the link is necessary. It just makes text and decklists look uglier. If you see "Wrath of God" somewhere in my post, it should be quite obvious that the card name is linked to Gatherer and not somewhere else.

Indeed I agree. In the forums I use if you type in [[Wrath of God]] its normal text but blue and obviously is linked to the card on the gatherer database. Still a nice function in general to have though.

The plan is actually to have a separate functionality for full decklists... gatherer tags were more for use in paragraph text/discussion (and well, a first stab at figuring out how to code new tags at all :P)

I figured it couldn't hurt to have both functions, so there's now a card tag as well: Fireball.

Gonna see if I can get floating card images working instead of opening a new window.

On a dutch forum I run we have chosen to implement both
Code:
[c] [/c]
and
Code:
[card] [/card]
to do the same. Saves a little bit of time for those wanting to use it and probably isn't a difficult thing to add. Maybe a suggestion?

Just use the WotC message boards standard tags. Plus, you can mooch the FAQ info for them too. ;)
I'm sure Zammm won't mind.

It looks like the card tags can't handle some punctuation.

[card]Bösium Strip[/card]
[card]Mind's Desire[/card]
Dralnu, Lich Lord
Clam Session
