This reminds me how badly I need to include Netherborn Phalanx in pretty much every black deck.

All of them had haste so the game was won before anyone could respond.

Rakdos Charm would have killed you, haste or no haste, before you moved to combat.

Also, this isn't so much "epic" as it is "prime example of why everyone hates Riku."

In my meta, you could get away with doing that once, and then you'd better take the deck apart if you don't want to look like a douchebag. (IMO, even the douchiest combos should get their moment of glory ... ONCE. Then I don't want to see them again.)

This is what happens when nobody plays any disruption for 7 turns.

Damia is a 7 CMC creature with no built-in protection. She's a good commander, but she's nowhere near Riku or Azami, in terms of brokenness.

You sure? If you have enough counters in your deck you can just get them at all times.

I have a well-tuned Damia deck. I'm sure.

1) Damia works best when you can empty your hand each turn. Stuffing your deck full of counterspells, which you need to keep in your hand and keep mana open for, defeats that plan.

2) Unless you have a Force of Will or Foil in hand, keeping mana open the turn you cast Damia makes her effectively cost 9+ mana. At 9 mana, you're allowed to get powerful toys.

I hear Damia LOVES DOUBLING CUBE.

Well the damia decks people play here are disgusting to say the least. They are basic control decks and never run out of steam.
My friend loves to use forbid.

Damia is a bitch with Forbid, I'll give you that (why I removed it from my deck). But Forbid is a problem in any deck capable of significant and repeatable card draw, i.e. any deck with blue in it.

I can't beleive that folks didn't interact at all with you.

Grats on the win.
