You're not on my ignore list.

What's with the price stuff? Did someone complain? You've seen my decklists, right?

I need more time to take it all in and respond with something sensible than I have right now. Consider it to be on my agenda, but it may take a while.

Basically I tried to mention something remotely relevant for every card, but that failed in several aspects. But yes, some people respond militantly to old cards. Sometimes I read strange stuff on the internet, who would've thought?

Well, no comments from me in that regard.

Akroma's Memorial

Why's the haste needed? I'd figure that you basically wear down their resources and kill them with whatever sticks, to me this is win more.

Helm of Possession - absolutely f* great (I bet Pi gets this reference)

I may need that wakeup call: missed it the first time I read through the list.

Great card, no further comments.

Sword of Fire and Ice

I would argue that it should be cut ;). I don't really see the advantage for you, what do you see it do?

I do need haste, because I need a kill after Living Death. The only way to make that work outside the combat step is currently Massacre Wurm.

One card doesn't do much though, so I'd cut it if it wasn't so much fun to animate it. I could cut it together with Karn, and play something else that works after Living Death. What's bonkers with LD that I'm not playing? I'd consider Falkenrath Noble and Tombstone Stairwell again.

As for SoFI, I don't know. The only thing it does that the deck wants is card draw. The judge foil is so pretty though, impossible to resist.

Why exactly do you need to kill after Living Death? Is LD likely to replenish their hand? If so, why are you playing it in the first place? If not, why can't you wait a turn? I believe in attrition; to wear opponents down over time. Haste just means I start beating down a turn earlier, but that's not so much of an advantage if you can still finish the job anyway. It's rare for me to run into a situation where the 1 extra draw they get is going to make all the difference.

I do agree that it seems fun to animate. I think Karn has other advantages that Memorial doesn't. I would play the former before I play the latter.

The judge foil is easier to resist than the original to me, I don't care for foils.

You're right about that, I guess.

Anyway, that leaves me with two empty slots, three if Karn gets the axe. Animating Eldrazi Monument is funny, so I prefer to keep Karn in. I could imagine running the trio of Falkenrath Noble, Blood artist and Zulaport Cutthroat though. It works with Living Death, and it works with dancing Gravecrawlers. I feel the list could use a couple of bombs. What about Overseer of the Damned (gives me tokens after Living Death, gives me Glissa triggers, good target for Meren) plus Myr Battlesphere (gives me tokens after Living Death, recurrable with Glissa, good target for Meren, likes to hang around with Mazirek)? Another consideration would be Ogre Slumlord, Triangle of War and Salvaging Station.

Random stuff good with LD: Greenwarden of Murasa, It That Betrays, Twilight's Call (as a LD backup of sorts), Hornet Queen (if Triangle of War is in the deck), Grim Haruspex (makes me think of Psychosis Crawler)

But it has the proper card frame...

I really like running Karn, I would not take that out at all. In my meta equipment was very prevalent, Karn would have a field day.

I'm not sure I'd try to make everything work with LD. It feels a bit like a one-trick pony to me. Wouldn't it be more important to work on a plan for when LD can't be found?

I prefer the first non-foil printing with regular corners, I'll play WB over foil. It indeed has the proper frame, but it's way too shiny for my taste.

Aye, but I'm taking out a card I added to help me in that regard, so I'd look for a card that helps me. It goes in the same card slot, so to speak. I think I've settled on Puppeteer Clique for now:
-the deck had that effect in previous incarnations
-I like the card a lot
-good synergy with LD
-I think I want to pull of the combo with Mazirek at least once in my life. Or this plus Salvaging Station and Ashnod's Transmogrant. Plus some sac outlet. Four card combo ftw
-best of all, I can justify the card thematically because the reminder text for Persist says "dies"

Well, we can't all build a collection of every single card ever printed, so I'll have to settle on judge foils with the proper card frame. I like WB though, but only on Revised cards. The lack of color blends nicely with the white border.

I like the Clique (less convinced of LD).

I've just never liked foils.

I was thinking of the other card to add. I'm leaning towards Phyrexian Splicer, because that's a fun card. It'll help screw combat (by which I mean blocking, as I don't intend to attack a lot), which is a nice rattlesnake. But Splicer gets me on the path to add something to untap it, like Unwinding Clock. A single card with this effect doesn't get me far anyway, so, other options. Grim Haruspex is a good contender, but it's a fragile creature that doesn't do much on its own. Coincidentally I read an article by Abe Sargent yesterday, where he mentions Strionic Resonator. That card is on my longlist (in the "rule breaker" section), and I think it's been mentioned here before. I don't have back-breaking triggered effects, but it help grinding. The list is full with triggered effects, including Glissa. Epsilon mentioned Salvaging Station was so good because it puts both the kill artifact and a bomb in your hand. Well, Strionic Resonator does the same thing.

I'm not a big fan of the Splicer, it seems like it would be a little weak for its purpose. I most certainly wouldn't play the Clock for it, though in the right build I could see the Clock have a place.

I think the Haruspex is ok, but nothing more than that. You need a few Morphs if you have a steady group and how many cards is he likely to draw, 2-4? Seems like quite a bit of work for a relatively small gain.

The Resonator resonates the most with what I like. I would certainly consider playing it if you have enough triggers.

Some changes:

Dark Prophecy -> Ogre Slumlord: I've declared my love for Slumlord before, but I want to strenghten the Sifter+Pawn package. And I found that while Dark Prophecy could draw me a decent number of cards, it also kills me.

Viscera Seer -> Attrition: with Slumlord in, Attrition makes a lot of sense. I want a sac outlet in this slot. I got to Viscera Seer because allegedly it could do a lot of work in a Meren deck, but this isn't a Meren deck. I also wanted a free sac outlet after a Living Death, but the scenario's where that is important aren't numerous. Besides, I love Attrition.

Another swap I'm thinking about is Shriekmaw -> Overseer of the Damned. Overseer gets me tokens, so it strengthens the theme. Another evasive big beater isn't a bad idea either. I'm not sold yet though. I might use the slot for something else: going back to the discussion about the deck's need for haste and the inclusion of Akroma's Memorial, I think somewhere along the line I lost track what was granting haste: rocket shoes. Having Gravecrawler plus anything that triggers on dying like Harvester of Souls is the dream, so keeping my opponents from wasting that dream sounds like A Good Thing (tm). So Lightning Greaves and Swiftfoot boots might come in (for Shriekmaw and the 99th card, Strionic Resonator). Thoughts? I think the deck would be better, but more boring.

My first thought would be: what's your list like now?

I find it hard to get a good feel for a deck from a decklist at the best of times, we discussed a number of changes, what does it currently look like?

They all seem like changes that may make sense.
