Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder was the first of the five 4c-decks I tried (almost out of the box, just swapping Whims of the Fates for a newly opened Leovold). I was impressed.

I thought Yidris deserved his own deck and because he's a Wizard, I opted for a tribal deck. Here this means at least 1/3 creature cards, and 1/3 cards of the chosen tribe. Sifting through my collection, I noticed, that about half of the good, yanky or simply wtf wizards I found in non-white were actually LEGENDARY.

A quick Gatherer Search yielded 63 different non-white Legendary Wizards, not counting the 5 new ones from the Commander '16 decks. That is more than double the number I need for my deck

So in principle, my deck stands:
1 Yidris
39 lands
33 Legendary Wizards
27 others (mostly Instants/Sorceries, maybe a handful of Enchantments and/or artifacts)

Here's where I ask your help:
From the following list of Wizards, whom would you leave out?
Ambassador Laquatus
Arcanis the Omnipotent
Arjun, the Shifting Flame
Azami, Lady of Scrolls
Barrin, Master Wizard
Blind Seer
Boris Devilboon ??
Braids, Conjurer Adept
Cabal Patriarch
Circu, Dimir Lobotomist ??
Damia, Sage of Stone
Dralnu, Lich Lord
Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder
Ertai, Wizard Adept
Ghoulcaller Gisa
Gisa and Geralf
Grandmother Sengir
Hakim, Loreweaver
Heidar, Rimewind Master
Hisoka, Minamo Sensei
Ixidor, Reality Sculptor
Jace, Vryn's Prodigy
Jalira, Master Polymorphist
Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge
Jhoira of the Ghitu
Jori En, Ruin Diver
Kaho, Minamo Historian
Kaseto, Orochi Archmage
Lim-Dûl the Necromancer
Linessa, Zephyr Mage
Maga, Traitor to Mortals
Maralen of the Mornsong
Marchesa, the Black Rose
Melek, Izzet Paragon
Meloku the Clouded Mirror
Memnarch
Mizzix of the Izmagnus
Momir Vig, Simic Visionary
Nebuchadnezzar
Nekusar, the Mindrazer
Nighteyes the Desecrator (Flip)
Nin, the Pain Artist
Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius ??
Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind ??
Oona, Queen of the Fae
Prime Speaker Zegana ??
Princess Lucrezia
Rayne, Academy Chancellor
Reveka, Wizard Savant
Riku of Two Reflections ??
Stitcher Geralf
Talrand, Sky Summoner
Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir
Tibor and Lumia
Tobita, Master of Winds (Flip)
Tomoya the Revealer (Flip) ??
Tuknir Deathlock
Uyo, Silent Prophet
Vela the Night-Clad
Vendilion Clique
Venser, Shaper Savant
Wydwen, the Biting Gale
Xira Arien
+
Ikra Shidiqi, the Usurper
Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix
Ludevic, Necro-Alchemist
Thrasios, Triton Hero

16 already cut because of triple non-blue colored mana, being too weak, double red and/or green mana or being antisynergetic with most of the rest.

Now what else?

I'd like to offer my opinion, but I am definitely not going to look up each card I don't know so I can assess it's stats and provide a reasonable analysis.

I'd recommend card tags, or some kind of link to the cards you want considered. Maybe someone else has more commitment to this than I do.

Of the cards I know, Circu, Hisoka and Jori En seem underwhelming. Melek and Mizzix similarly are build arounds, you are unlikely to have enough spells to justify them, and if your deck is full of legends without ETBs then Riku doesn't seem much good either.

Xira Arien

Thrasios, Triton Hero

EDIT: my suggestion after taking a quick look would be to focus on the card draw connection I see weaving through a number of these cards. Niv-Mizzet + Azami and Niv-Mizzet + Arjun could be super strong. Your secondary win condition could be flooding the board with tokens through Gisa, Lich Lord of Unx, Lullmage Mentor, Meloku, Oona, Talrand, and Docent of Perfection (unfortunately Docent of Perfection isn't a Wizard, but its ability is so strong).

Deck Link http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/wizards-ultimate-tribal/

By far not finished (and some cards I have yet to acquire)

Biggest problem atm: Riku does... not that much with only 2 nonlegendary creatures and 16 nonpermanent cards. Which of the remaining 34 legendary wizard would you cut him for?

P.S.:
Many Thanks @ Segrus for tagging the list.

Grand Update - with Dominaria the Wizard tribe got enough famous support to be somewhat playable.

I've focused on those who either interact with spells or other wizards (or both) and OF COURSE I included Legendary Sorceries. I changed Commanders, because Yidris doesn't fit the deck at all - he's better left to the Golden Cascade deck around Ramos.

These are boring statistics at DeckStats.net and these are the same boring statistics at TappedOut.net. Enjoy!

//Commanders
1 Ludevic, Necro-Alchemist
1 Ikra Shidiqi, the Usurper

//Creatures
1 Adeliz, the Cinder Wind
1 Azami, Lady of Scrolls
1 Baral, Chief of Compliance
1 Circu, Dimir Lobotomist
1 Damia, Sage of Stone
1 Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder
1 Ertai, Wizard Adept
1 Heidar, Rimewind Master
1 Hisoka, Minamo Sensei
1 Jace, Vryn's Prodigy
1 Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge
1 Jori En, Ruin Diver
1 Kaseto, Orochi Archmage
1 Kess, Dissident Mage
1 Marchesa, the Black Rose
1 Melek, Izzet Paragon
1 Meloku the Clouded Mirror
1 Naru Meha, Master Wizard
1 Nekusar, the Mindrazer
1 Nin, the Pain Artist
1 Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind
1 Oona, Queen of the Fae
1 Prime Speaker Vannifar
1 Talrand, Sky Summoner
1 Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir
1 Thrasios, Triton Hero
1 Tibor and Lumia
1 Uyo, Silent Prophet
1 Vela the Night-Clad
1 Vendilion Clique
1 Venser, Shaper Savant
1 Xira Arien

//Lands
1 Breeding Pool
1 Cinder Glade
1 Command Tower
1 Evolving Wilds
1 Exotic Orchard
1 Minamo, School at Water's Edge
1 Misty Rainforest
1 Path of Ancestry
1 Polluted Delta
1 Riptide Laboratory
1 Scalding Tarn
1 Smoldering Marsh
3 Snow-Covered Forest
9 Snow-Covered Island
5 Snow-Covered Mountain
5 Snow-Covered Swamp
1 Steam Vents
1 Sunken Hollow
1 Terramorphic Expanse
1 Verdant Catacombs
1 Watery Grave
1 Wooded Foothills

//Spells
1 Day's Undoing
1 Jaya's Immolating Inferno
1 Karn's Temporal Sundering
1 Kodama's Reach
1 Virtus's Maneuver
1 Yawgmoth's Vile Offering
1 Artifact Mutation
1 Assassin's Trophy
1 Beast Within
1 Brainstorm
1 Counterflux
1 Cryptic Command
1 Cyclonic Rift
1 Force of Will
1 Golgari Charm
1 Grixis Charm
1 Harrow
1 Mystic Confluence
1 Mystical Teachings
1 Polymorphist's Jest
1 Rakdos Charm
1 Reality Shift
1 Release to the Wind
1 Silumgar's Command
1 Temur Charm
1 Vona's Hunger

Now the deck can even do a combo finish with Naru Meha, Master Wizard, Release to the Wind and either Circu, Dimir Lobotomist or Vela the Night-Clad... a bit lame, but sometimes there's a need for it.

Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix is probably worth a slot... there's enough card draw to make her good.

It might worth worth trying to find room for Shizo, Death's Storehouse. I don't imagine you're winning a ton of games with combat damage, but it helps cover for cards like Jeleva that you probably want attacking.

If you wanted to confuse everyone during combat, you could toss in one of the old Legends "bands with" lands (Seafarer's Quay I guess, since most wizards have some blue). It takes some getting used to playing with banding, but once you get the hang of it, it's a fun way to monkey with the table.

...you're talkin a 3-card combo that needs a frail, janky creature in play and 7 mana worth of creature + instant. If you manage to put it together, you probably earned it.
