Someone cast Song of the Dryads on an Iona (who was naming white).
Iona became a forest and lost all abilities.
Subsequently, the Song of the Dryads was destroyed and the Iona reverted to being an angel.

What colour does she lock out?
A. White because that's what was named initially?
B. Whatever colour the controller now chooses with the minty fresh Iona?
C. None because the naming was wiped when she became a forest, she doesn't "come into play" when the Song goes away and thus can't name a new colour.

I went for C.

In other news, Song of the Dryads is quietly amazing.

I think it's A

I could be wrong but here's how I think it works.

There's a replacement effect on Iona stating "as this ETBs, choose a colour" and when that replacement effect happens (i.e. as she enters the battlefield) a choice is made.

There's a static effect on Iona that works when she's on the battlefield.

That static effect is an ability. The replacement effect is an ability.

But the choice made isn't an ability, it's a thing that happened. That the "as this enters" ability is removed is irrelevant, it would only matter if Iona was actually entering the battlefield.

The choice doesn't "fall off." It becomes irrelevant, as the static effect gets removed in Layer 6 as we go through the application of continuous effects.

So when the Song goes away the choice is still there.

YMMV. I'm not a judge.

Edit - I am very confident that it's not B.

It's "A".

The game sees Iona as a single object, one that made a choice of "White" when it entered play. So long as Iona doesn't actually leave the battlefield, that choice remains the same, even if that choice no longer matters (such as when she became a forest for a while.)

Once she's no longer a forest, she has an ability that checks what colour was named as she entered the battlefield -- as that part hasn't ever changed.

So it remains the initial colour chosen.
