Disclaimer: I don't think this should happen and it's a HORRIBLE idea.

Simple question: for the sake of argument, let's say the ban list was completely abolished. Assuming price wasn't a factor or your group was cool with proxies, what do you start running, and why?

I wish this weren't the answer, but I'd go straight to Griselbrand and probably never look back.

Alternatively, with Primeval Titan legal I could finally build a Commander version of Amulet Bloom and that would be sweet.

Edits I'd do to my decks if banlist cards became legal somehow:

- Primeval Titan into my monogreen deck and my WUBRG Lands deck.
- Prophet of Kruphix into my Lands and Bant Heroic decks.
- Karakas in my Mangara deck.
- Sundering Titan in a Kozilek, the Great Distortion deck.

... I like interactive Magic.

My local environments would probably split into two: one following the banlist as it was anyway, the other playing with formerly banned cards. The former group would very likely start going in its own direction banning a few other cards sooner or later.

I would want to play with Primeval Titan just to see what the fuss was about; I wanted to play with that one back when I started but we found out it was banned. I would not stick with Primeval Titan because I would not want to play in a game where moxes, Emrakul, Leovold, Channel, and others were legitimate.

Also since Conspiracies are on the ban list, I would add some of those in my deck. : )

Painter's Servant would happily go to its rightful place in my 8.5 Tails and Treva, the Renewer decks. Although maybe not Treva because Painter's is a cool synergy card and that deck is the closest thing I have to "goodstuff". And if I ever get ahold of a Tolarian Academy it'll fit in snugly with my Thada Adel list.

Primeval Titan, Recurring Nightmare, Sylvan Primordial, and Prophet of Kruphix might or might not end up in various decks, and the two pieces of Power I own will be reunited as I slide Mox Pearl into my 1v1 Shu Yun deck.

I would build a flip-walker Lilly deck containing all four of her story demons, as well as that enchantment that cares about unique demons under your control if Griselbrand were available to me. I would also do this if Wizards ever were to print a Griselbrand from an earlier time in his life that was cool with the RC.

Rofellos and Selvala would be the best of friends.

I wouldn't build any new decks just because of it.

Flash Hulk would continue to be up at the absolute top-tier level of play, and i'd be soooo happy to play that with lotus, moxes, gifts ungiven, griselbrand, academy, time walk, ancestral, library, leovold, and maybe limited resources. Time Vault might be close to good enough, Painter's Servant probably not.

I tend to think there should be a lot more or a lot less banned cards anyway.

Other than that, this wouldn't do anything for me except improve decks. Would love to play Primeval Titan and Prophet of Kruphix.

I'd play a lot more 5c decks to take advantage of moxen, that's for sure. Even if I usually like to build through General first.

I'd just use Rofellos as my Commander for my Nissa deck and go off turn 2 or 4 at the latest.
Or just proxy all the Moxen and Power nad go infinite turn 1 with Atogatog or whatever.

I'd add into my Thrasios/Vial Smasher storm list Mox Sapphire, Mox Emerald, Mox Jet, Mox Ruby, Black Lotus, Fastbond, Ancestral Recall, Time Vault, Voltaic Key, Transmute Artifact, Tinker, Tolarian Academy, and Crop Rotation. I would remove Doomsday, Cabal Ritual, Breeding Pool, Steam Vents, Watery Grave, Morphic Pool, Sleight of Hand, and several others I'm not sure of at the moment. The deck would be heavier towards Time Vault as it's primary wincon.

I think that the shape of regular EDH wouldn't change- but people would definitely want to try Leovold or Braids again. I know initially I'd atleast run into Prophet of Kruphix a whole lot. But to me, EDH has always been about bonkers crazy stuff, and outside of instances involving Time Vault combo or anything else so extraordinarily extreme- the games would hold together like they usually do. The texture of an EDH deck is usually determined by a playgroup more than the hypothetical madness.

Oh. I'd play a lot more Tezzeret, the Seeker and Time Vault.

Honestly, I don't think this would be a good change for the format, haha

I'd probably use a lot of moxen. Library of Alexandria in pretty much every deck. Prime Time back into all the green decks.

Does that count? Conspiracies aren't on the EDH banned list, they're on the Vintage banned list, and EDH is played with Vintage legal cards. So that only works if the Vintage list is going out the window as well.
