At what point does each group allow cards from new sets to integrated into the game?

prerelease? street date? constructed legal date?

just curious as our group is really just forming.

Well, as soon as you can get hold of them, I suppose. Card availability is kind of part of the format, since besides power, nearly everything's legal.

I know Academy Ruins went in my deck on the day of the pre-release...

For EDH, cards are generally considered to be legal the first day of the prerelease... which can make for something of a scramble ;)

"As soon as you can get the cards" seems the way to go!

Another interesting point has recently come up- When can one reserve a general? So far, the answer seems to be "As soon as the card's existance has been confirmed by an official source". :-)

Seems good to me. We certainly don't want it to be earlier, and there's no real reason to go later.

Agreed. I like there to be incentives to work the PR. I think we can make this official.

New Dragons on 2 Feb!!! They will see play in Geneva.

I've already got an Intet deck together, actually. :D

But I'm not going to be in Geneva. :(
