Hi,

We have a player who would like to use Brothers Yamazaki as his General. I understand that, as it goes, our local playgroup can decide for ourselves whether or not to allow him to play TWO Brothers Yamazaki. I was just wondering what the opinion of the experienced EDH players would be?

(Me personally, I'm for it, so long as he uses one of each picture!)

Thanks in advance,
-- dave

Official rules say that he can't, but if your local group thinks it's okay, then go for it! You should make sure that the rules for it are agreed on beforehand, though - for example, how does the extra 2 mana for replaying your general affect him?

It might be kinda cool if you considered the Bros. as one creatures split over two cards.. like the BFM.. To play them, you simultaneously pay both of their costs. If they go back to the general zone, pay both their costs, then add 2. If one goes to the graveyard, the other does the same. Bounce one, and the other goes the same way. One gets stolen by another player, they gain control of both. :o

I'd like to see you play them in a pentagram game of two-headed giant. Holy confusing Batman!
