With my former clan dead (most players hadn't logged on in over a year - rarely 2 of the remaining 5 active players were ever online at the same time) I have decided to make a new clan for players looking to play EDH online. I would like the clan to focus on casual (rather than competitive) builds and I am interested in other casual formats like Tribal and 5 moons - or combining formats, like Tribal Commander.

Here's the description I posted for the clan:

CC (Abbreviation for a Commander of a unit) is a clan for Casual players who are interested in fun games of Commander and other formats. We emphasize fun over competitive builds.

My screenname online is the same as here, so feel free to leave me a message here or on MTGO if you might be interested in joining. I hope having a clan like this will help us share ideas, critique and playtest decks online and make tables to play 1:1 or multi-player more often.

Let me know if you have any questions.

PS: CC is the Air Force abbreviation for a Unit Commander (e.g. AFSOC CC is the overall Commander of Air Force Special Operations Command) I thought it was interesting that CC could abreviate the clan and reference Commander as a format.

I haven't been able to play online much in a long time, but would like to get back into it. My screen name online is the same as it is here. It'd be nice to be able to hop on MTGO and get some casual games going.

Serious thread necro, but if you are still active with this in MTGO, I would definitely be interested. I draft online and do tourneys once in a blue moon, but quit trying to play casual for the lack of casual people. A group dedicated to catering to true casual magic in casual formats in MTGO would be awesome.

Screen name same as here.

People who hang out in the irc channel know that I almost only play on MTGO due to lack of players and shops / trustworthy places to play at.
Same name online, I got my own clan and since I lead it despite people not showing up much at the same time.. I'll keep that one together.
Feel free to poke me online or in the irc channel for a game tho.
Sometimes we even get MTGO tables going just from the irc channel, rarely but it happend a few times in the last few months.

I go by the screen name dj_phobos on there (and we've played each other frequently). Feel free to hit me up any time you see me.

Hey,

For anyone interested, I made a group page for this clan so I can start stocking the Wiki with tons of links and related information. It'll also give us private forums and a place to coordinate and share information.

MTGO... I have an account, but no cards newer than Ravnica (or maybe a little bit of Coldsnap), but definately no EDH deck. I see no reason why I shouldn't build one though. Do you have people playing in the Euro timezone?

I built a janky Giant tribal deck for $9 ordering all the cards online from Cardhoarder and it seems to be working well. Add me as a buddy and it seems there are always EDH games going on.

Yeah, there's an IRC channel. If you go to the main page at http://mtgcommander.net/rules.php?PRINT=1 you can click on CHAT and it'll get you there. Alternatively, go to #mtgcommander on EFnet and you'll find people there. You'll find Datatog gets used a LOT, mostly when we have a card in mind and can't remember exactly which one, or looking for cards that do X. (It does other things to - it has the entire Comprehensive Rules in it, for example.) Serra's the other bot, mostly for administrative tasks.

By the way: EFnet only allows nicks up to 9 characters long, so don't be surprised to see some 'compressed' usernames there.

Also, if you're curious, I've compiled a few players over at MTGS here.
