Hey I just moved back to Queens from Denver and I'm surprised at how hard it is to find EDH players around here... I'm looking to join or start a playgroup at any skill/power level. If anyone's interested let me know here or you can email me at jack0grogan@gmail.com I'd be willing to host or go wherever (besides deep Suffolk), all those areas are pretty easy to get to from here.

NYC is surprisingly tough to meet Magic players if you don't already know people :(

You could always try checking some of the local stores... I dunno about Queens, but there are a couple potential spots in Brooklyn. One of my friends said Twenty Sided Store in Williamsburg is pretty good, so if you haven't already, I'd check there. I know King's Games has run tournament Magic for a long time, and I'd assume they pull at least a few EDHers as well.

Ah that's too bad :/ I contacted 20 sided store and they no longer have EDH night unfortunately. I'll check out Kings Games though thanks for the advice.

I recently moved out of NYC, sadly, but I know that 20-sided had an email list where sometimes people would organize commander games. It's probably still around, though it's more than a bit insular, in my experience.

Good luck!

There's a Manhattan group that plays EDH in a public space on Monday nights that gets ~12-20 people regularly, and Nebulous Gaming also in Manhattan does an EDH night on Wednesdays with a much smaller crowd.
