 Post subject: Statis Snare and commander

Stumbled into a problem while playing EDH the other day where my opponent exiled my commander with a Statis Snare. Would i be able to move my commander to my command zone from Statis snare or is it jailed by this card?

Stasis snare, or anything else that attempts to move your commander to the exile zone, allows you to choose to move your commander to the command zone instead.

It doesn't matter what the source of the effect is, any time your commander would try to move to exile you can choose to replace that by moving it to the command zone.

In addition (even though you didn't ask) if you choose to put your commander into the command zone, and you haven't cast your command since that happened, when stasis snare leaves play, your commander comes back to play.

You sure about this? Seems like when the trigger resolves the departing Stasis Snare would fail to find your commander in the zone it sent it and nothing would happen.

And friends being O-Ring, Fiend Hunter or a different group of friends?
